It was a dream of the founder of Jnana Prabodhini, Dr. Appaji Pendse, to present the young readers of Maharashtra with a magazine, which would not only serve its informative and entertainment purpose but also be a source of inspiration for multi-dimensional development. ‘Chhatra Prabodhan’ brought this dream into reality which has completed its successful journey of 14 years in 2006. |

At present the magazine is in Marathi, regional language of the state. The magazine is rich with the variety of subjects and forms of literature such as stories, narratives, informatives, activity - based articles, life sketches of eminent personalities, inspiring experiences, travelogues, self-study skills, articles on physical - mental - intellectual - emotional development, book and movie review, etc. The creative gift is given along with the Diwali Issue. Handwritten birthday greeting is sent to every subscriber. |
| Different Competitions: “Be Editor Yourselves" - A Manuscript Magazine Competition, “Pankh Suranche" - a cassette recording competition, “Srujanala Pankh Nave" - a stage - presentation competition”, etc. are some of the newly organised group competitions. Around 12,000 students have participated in these. |  |
